2026 Galing Pook Awards now open

The Galing Pook Foundation has opened the call for applications for the 2026 Galing Pook Awards.

During the online launch held on June 2, 2026, Galing Pook Chairperson Dr. Maria Fe Mendoza thanked the LGUs for their continued interest in the Galing Pook Awards.

Previous Galing Pook awardees shared their reasons for joining the Galing Pook Awards, as well as their views on the selection process and their experience after receiving the Award. They include Bataan Governor Joet Garcia, who led Bataan in receiving their three Galing Pook Awards from 2022, 2023, and 2024, and Punong Barangay Sonny Santiago of Brgy. General Malvar, Santiago City and Punong Barangay Jojo Javier of Brgy. Poblacion, Tupi, South Cotabato, who were both 2025 Galing Pook Awardees.

Galing Pook Executive Director Jay Carizo shared this year's theme, Islands of Hope: Local Innovations, National Inspiration and shared that the Galing Pook Awards is once again open to all programs of LGUs from the provinces, cities, municipalities, and barangays. He also encouraged inter-LGU programs to join.

Information sessions will be conducted in the coming weeks, together with Galing Pook's partners.

Submission of applications is through Google Forms at https://bit.ly/2026GalingPookAwardsApplication. Deadline for submission of applications is on July 15, 2026, at 11:59PM PHT.
